After a tutorial I have been advised to focus on finding a contemporary character who has the lifestyle and sense of dress that I would like my menswear designs to encapsulate.
Because I have been looking at the Bright Young Things of the 1920s I decided I needed to find the modern equivalents who live in London today. I think these are men who are often in the press (as their 1920s counterparts were), seen at all the right parties and with all the right people. However in our modern society, people are not respected and admired for doing nothing, as the Bright Young Things did and therefore the modern men that will inspire me should have multiple, successful careers and be admired for what they do.
Here are some young 'men about town' who I think fit this and am using as inspiration for my project.
